A customer list is not the same as repeat business. First make the food and service worth returning for, then use digital tools to make the next visit easier.
Define acquisition and retention costs consistently
CAC is attributable acquisition spending divided by new paying customers in the same period. Include relevant advertising, first-order incentives, and operating work. Membership rewards and messages also cost money. Review contribution, repeat visits, and churn rather than assuming all returning orders are inexpensive.
Let people order before asking them to join
Invite customers to save details, collect points, or link an account after a successful order. LINE Login needs appropriate authorization and account linking; it does not automatically add the official account as a friend or authorize all marketing. Explain purpose, optional fields, contact frequency, and withdrawal, keeping order notifications distinct from promotions. Confirm available integrations.
Segment using real purchasing rhythms
A weekly customer missing for 30 days is different from a quarterly visitor. Consider relevant reminders, previews for high-contribution customers, and preference-based offers using permitted information. Cap frequency, provide an unsubscribe option, and stop reminders after purchase. Avoid teaching every segment to wait for discounts.
Keep rewards understandable and affordable
Show earning rules, redemption, expiry, and refund adjustments. A scheme that issues TWD 10,000 face value with assumed 60% redemption needs capacity for TWD 6,000 of redemption value and the associated product cost. This is an operating estimate, not an accounting conclusion. Test cross-store, expiry, and refund exceptions.
Measure the incremental return
Use comparable consented control groups. If 30 of 200 contacted customers return versus 20 of 200 controls, the illustrative increment is 10, not all 30. At TWD 120 contribution each, that is TWD 1,200 before messages, offers, and execution. Track 30/60/90-day cohorts and unsubscribes; small samples remain uncertain.
